COMPLETE DAIRY DISPERSAL AUCTION: SATURDAY, MARCH 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. PST. Overland Stock Yard conducts complete dairy dispersal auction at Palla Rosa - BV Dairy, 18904 Bear Mountain Blvd., Bakersfield, California 93311. Selling 7,000 Holsteins: 3,500 head milking & dry cows and 3,500 head replacement heifers.

Milking & Dry Cows: Current production: 77 lbs., Prot: 3.33%, S.N.F. 8.97%, FAT: 3.75%, 2X Milking - No B.S.T. - 173,000 S.C.C., 50 years of A.I. breeding, 65% - 1st and last lactation.

Replacement Heifers: Baby calves through Springers, 50 years of genetics, 100% artificial insemination using ABS sex semen.

55% of herd is pregnant with 24% yearly average pregnancy rate. Herd is tested free of Myco & Staph, T.B. tested prior to auction and will be sold in truck load lots. The milking cows are sorted by lactation, D.I.M., production and the replacement heifers are sorted by size, age, and pregnancy.

Auctioneer Note: Family operated for the past 70 years with the original Palla Rosa Farms founded in 1955 by Livio & Billie "Rose" Palla. The family has been at the current location for over a decade. The dairy is now in its third generation and the decision has been made to get out of the dairy business as the facility and farm ground has been sold, with the new buyer changing breeds.
